"Just as we find a well-balanced vessel beautiful, fallen leaves and stones are equally beautiful," says Naotsugu Yoshida, whose work reflects his free and tolerant attitude that is not bound by rules. The shapes and expressions that emerge only from compressing, rather than eliminating, the diverse sense of beauty.
After graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, Naotsugu Yoshida studied under the ceramist Taizo Kuroda and built his kiln at the foot of Mount Fuji in 2003. His unique combination of iron-glazed black and white porcelain and ash-glazed white pottery is characterized by a sharp and light impression that is shared by all of his works, despite the differences in materials and colors.
Since each piece is handmade by an artist, there may be individual differences in color, weight, and size.
