Tsumugi Sakamoto's work begins with noticing the little things she finds in her everyday life. Using the motifs she gathers in this way as a base, she gradually creates shapes using materials that she can touch with her hands. She studied sculpture at an art university in London, and while there she discovered ceramics, which she found fascinated by the freedom of clay and the fact that you can touch it with your hands and create with it. Although she is mostly self-taught in firing and glazing, she continues to expand her expression through daily experiments.
